Couch Construction was originally established by Rod and Carol Couch in 1986 under the name Rod Couch's Backhoe Services. Located in Sunderland, ON they serviced a majority of the GTA including Scugog, Clarington, and the Kawartha Lakes. At that time, they had a backhoe and a dump truck. The main types of jobs were trenching, water lines, driveways, lot grading and septics.
Since then a lot has changed. In 2004, Rod and Carol's youngest son, Brent, started a second company called Couch Construction. For the next five years the two companies were ran as separate entities working on their own jobs. Over the later part of those years, Rod and Brent found themselves working together more and more. So in 2009, the decision was made that Couch Construction would take over Rod Couch's Backhoe Services.
By combining equipment and resources it allowed the new company to take on a second line of work. This was also when Couch Construction welcomed the dealership of Calhoun Super Structures.
